Research and development
Geese have been bred consistently and continuously at our renowned base breeding operation in Königswartha, near Bautzen in Upper Lusatia, since 1982 in accordance with the line hybrid breeding process. The special breeding farm is economically and organizationally integrated into the entire goose meat production at Eskildsen. This ensures the smooth transfer of advances in breeding to parents and animals for fattening.
At the base breeding operation we have staff with years of expertise in the area of goose breeding – with scientific advice from Dr. Karl-Heinz Schneider (Leipzig University). Species orientated free range keeping ensures the harmony of the selection and production environment. The breeding animals, whether parents or those for fattening, are therefore predestined for free range keeping. At the same time we support higher agrobiodiversity for the preservation of old goose breeds.
